Anxious, worried or frustrated by the world around you? Want to make a difference, but don’t know where to start?
Generation Snowstorm is a project for 16-25 year olds who wan’t to change things (no experience necessary!) – because how we feel in ourselves and about our future is linked to the world around us.
In a world that tells us we are the problem when we call out injustice, we cultivate activism as a form of radical self-care – for ourselves, for each other and for the world around us.
What does it involve?
Our main activity is a two-week summer school in Bristol where we explore the issues in the world that impact on our wellbeing and tools and tactics for making a change. In 2018 this included
- T-shirt/patch screen-printing, street-chalking, radical history walks,
- Talks, workshops and performance (poetry, music, puppetry) by inspiring groups and individuals making change for the better.
- Visits to a range of radical/sustainable/community projects in bristol to see alternative projects run and what we can learn from them.
- The creation of a supportive inclusive community, hang out, sharing food and meeting others who want to make a change.
In addition to the summer school, GenSnow facilitators and past participants have a run a series of shorter workshops and talks at a variety of venues. Get in touch if you’d like to collaborate.
GenSnow 2019 – We are awaiting a funding decision as to whether it’s going to be possible for us to run the summer school in 2019. If you are interested, please get in touch and we’ll keep you updated.
